Hi, I’m Isabel and the owner of Oddly Charming Studios! I’ve always loved making cute, whimsical creations out of simple things like paper.

As piñatas have grown more popular around the world, I noticed something: not everyone can find a local piñata artist. You might get lucky on Etsy or with a custom seller, but it’s not always available—and even when it is, the cost can be hard to justify. That’s where DIY starts to feel like the next best option.

The problem? DIY tutorials are often made by expert crafters. They usually involve traditional methods like papier maché, balloons, or complex shaping techniques. The results are beautiful, but if you’re a beginner, it can be confusing, time-consuming, and expensive to get started.

That’s why I developed my own method.

Instead of balloons and papier maché, I teach you how to make a simpler base that you can build in an afternoon, using recycled cardboard. And to make the decorating easy, I design printable piñata templates made specifically for beginners. These templates aren’t just posters or SVG files — they include the full outline plus every small detail, already measured and traced so your piñata comes out with perfect proportions.

Each piece is labeled by color, and in many cases, you can use the printed parts directly — no guesswork, no expensive materials, no advanced tools like Cricut. Many techniques do come from professional piñata makers, but I’ve adapted them to make them friendly, affordable, and doable at home.

My tutorials also include detailed instructions, a list of materials, and a lot of tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way.

If you’re ready, grab your template and materials, and let’s get started!
